Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Returns To Hillcrest! Cheer, Support, Be Aware and Plan Ahead!

A San Diego tradition since 1998, annual Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon returns June 2-3, 2018. The course takes more than 30,000 runners through Balboa Park before heading into Hillcrest, North Park, and Normal Heights, with the full marathon continuing through Mission Bay Park and ending at Waterfront Park.

Music along every mile makes up the heart and “sole” of this event.  Live San Diego bands and DJ’s will be performing a variety of music, to help keep the excitement and energy going for the runners and spectators! In Hillcrest, the Mile 1 Stage will be set up on the north sidewalk of University Avenue, over the 163 overpass.  DJ’s Cable and GarGar will be spinning those early morning tunes and providing a place for spectators to join in on the fun and cheer on the runners!

Hillcrest’s business community, the Hillcrest Farmers Market, and other San Diego attractions will remain open during the marathon. Hillcrest businesses, farmers market vendors, and visitors should be aware and plan ahead for road closures.
