Volunteer

Welcome to the first official Hillcrest “Fabuteer” website.  There are so many ways to volunteer for your neighborhood and this webpage will connect you to them all!

What is a “Fabuteer”?  It’s easy, a Fabuteer is a neighborhood volunteer that regularly helps out by volunteering for Hillcrest.  Whether you volunteer at the Farmer’s Market, CityFest, Pride or a Hillcrest neighborhood clean up, you’re eligible.  Anyone that helps us and volunteers for three events (two HBA events and one community event) is eligible to qualify as a Fabuteer.  Volunteers that meet this high bar receive goodies each year like personalized Fabuteer clothing, gift certificates to local businesses and tickets to upcoming Hillcrest events!  Want to be a Fabuteer?  It starts by volunteering! Here are a couple of opportunities to get involved in!

Hillcrest Cityfest

Save the date for Hillcrest Cityfest on August 9, 2015! CityFest takes place in the heart of Hillcrest and is a huge celebration of community spirit through music, arts, crafts, and food and attracts 150,000+ attendees each year!

We are looking for high energy volunteers to assist with vendor load in and load out, main stage management and beer garden shenanigans. Please shoot Benjamin an email at Benjamin@hillcrestbia.org if you’d like to help.

2014 Cityfest Fabuteers

The Hillcrest Farmers Market is the most popular and well attended farmers market in the city.  For over fifteen years the market has been a weekly family friendly event that connects San Diegans to local farmers, artists and one of a kind food offerings.  The Hillcrest Farmers Market is every Sunday between 9am and 2pm at Normal and University Ave.  Find out more at www.hillcrestfarmersmarket.com.

The Hillcrest Business Association manages an information booth at the Farmers Market to provide information about the market and Hillcrest businesses.  We sell merchandise and gift certificates to the market (market “bucks”).  If you’re interested in being part of a San Diego institution then email marisa@hillcrestbia.org.
